They are easily accessible, more affordable for an ordinary person, and in some instances, the apartments are shared by a community of professional young people. This approach ensures that the company caters for Previously Disadvantaged Individuals (PDIs), some of whom come from rural and urban areas, and who face affordability challenges or seek better opportunities. The reality is that many families are struggling due to the economic challenges we face daily.

Over the past 6 years, we have contributed over R6.3 million across various industries. Although our portfolio is still in its infancy, over the past six years, we have had a positive impact on multiple sectors and communities. We prioritised vendors and SMEs in FY26 through our partnership with Flip SME (Pty) Ltd.

Female individuals occupy fifty per cent of the leadership positions within Mank, and she also holds 40% shares in the organisation.  

Sustainable cities and communities

Our 25 properties in Central Business Districts offer affordable housing options for students, young professionals, interns, and families. We house more than 75 tenants in both communal and non-communal apartments in CBDs. The apartments offer Wi-Fi and free access to water, with tenants sharing the cost of prepaid electricity. The aim is to drive community cohesion and ensure sustainable affordability.

We consider the economic impact on our community when determining our pricing. As a result, our rent is set at a level that is reasonable for everyday citizens. Additionally, the size of our business enables us to be flexible and attentive to our investment properties, allowing us to understand and meet the needs of our tenants.
